La disparidad en el nivel de las carreras formadoras de traductores, int\u00e9rpretes y termin\u00f3logos en los pa\u00edses de la regi\u00f3n,<\/p>\n
Recomendamos que las autoridades pertinentes a\u00fanen esfuerzos con las asociaciones profesionales de cada pa\u00eds para tomar acciones concretas que permitan subsanar las deficiencias existentes y formar profesionales con un nivel acad\u00e9mico de excelencia que responda a las necesidades reales de los usuarios del servicio, y jerarquice y visibilice la profesi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

We, the representatives of the Professional Associations members of the Regional Centre Latin America of the International Federation of Translators (FIT), within the framework of the 1st LatAm Regional Meeting on Translation and Interpreting,<\/p>\n
Pursuant to the principles of the Nairobi Recommendation,<\/p>\n
And<\/p>\n
Considering the unequal level of formal study programs to train translators, interpreters and terminologists in the countries in the region,<\/p>\n
Recommend that the relevant authorities work together with the professional associations in each country in order to take concrete steps to correct existing deficiencies and train professionals with an academic level of excellence that meets the needs of the users, providing more visibility to translators, interpreters and terminologists and achieving better standards for the profession.<\/p>\n
