Learning and networking, discovering what’s new and refreshing the familiar – with 180 lectures and panel discussions, 11 seminars and around 40 poster presentations, with 20 exhibitors and a job exchange with numerous informative events, the FIT-Weltkongress invites you to an intensive examination of the important issues in the industry. The Congress, from 4 to 6 August in Berlin, also provides an occasion for meetings and discussions with colleagues from across the globe.

Registration successfully launched

More than 200 participants from 30 countries in 5 continents have already registered in the first four weeks, including some who can easily reach the Henry Ford Building at the Freie Universität Berlin in Berlin-Dahlem on foot, and others who are travelling to Germany from the other side of the world. The registration form, information on hotels and the provisional programme can be found alongside other useful information on the conference homepage at www.FIT2014.org.

Multifaceted Congress programme

The programme for the XXth FIT World Congress reflects the variety of fields in which translators, interpreters and terminologists work. Together with the main topic which sheds a critical light on the use of CAT tools and machine translation, there will be sessions dealing with issues ranging from community translation and interpreting, legal translation and interpreting and translation in the cloud to quality management and standards. Further focal areas will include presentations on marketing and the importance of social media and teamwork for the profession.
