Nosotros, los representantes de las Asociaciones Profesionales integrantes del Centro Regional América Latina de la Federación Internacional de Traductores (FIT), en el marco del I Encuentro Regional de América Latina en torno a la Traducción y la Interpretación,
Considerando:
Los principios de la Recomendación de Nairobi
Y
La disparidad en el nivel de las carreras formadoras de traductores, intérpretes y terminólogos en los países de la región,
Recomendamos que las autoridades pertinentes aúnen esfuerzos con las asociaciones profesionales de cada país para tomar acciones concretas que permitan subsanar las deficiencias existentes y formar profesionales con un nivel académico de excelencia que responda a las necesidades reales de los usuarios del servicio, y jerarquice y visibilice la profesión.

We, the representatives of the Professional Associations members of the Regional Centre Latin America of the International Federation of Translators (FIT), within the framework of the 1st LatAm Regional Meeting on Translation and Interpreting,
Pursuant to the principles of the Nairobi Recommendation,
And
Considering the unequal level of formal study programs to train translators, interpreters and terminologists in the countries in the region,
Recommend that the relevant authorities work together with the professional associations in each country in order to take concrete steps to correct existing deficiencies and train professionals with an academic level of excellence that meets the needs of the users, providing more visibility to translators, interpreters and terminologists and achieving better standards for the profession.
